A New Understanding Of History by Byram Campbell

Byram Campbell, Contributing Editor to WESTERN DESTINY since its first issue, died June 14th in the Mount Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills.

Only a few days prior to a minor operation he explained to friends that he expected to be on his feet again in a short while. He was “chipper.” and in apparently good health.
He underwent surgery in another hospital in Beverly Hills and was moved to Mount Sinai or
June o, surviving the move eight days.

Bryam Campbell was a successful businessman, as well as one of Conservatism’s leading writers and thinkers. His earliest book, AMERICAN RACE THEORISTS (1953) established his reputation for scholarship and independent thinking. It was not even reviewed in the United States, though was hailed overseas. It was followed by WORLD OF ONENESS in 1956 and RACE AND SOCIAL REVOLUTION in 1958. In addition to these books, he also wrote others on body mechanics, as well as brief articles and pamphlets on social problems and world conditions, based on extensive travel and investigation.

The article below was written for RIGHT newsletter in 1958. RIGHT first printed “B.C.’s” articles and introduced him to and popularized him among Conservatives. This article has been selected because it briefly summarizes one of his most important theories: that of MONISM. His second book, WORLD OF ONENESS, now out of print, was dedicated wholly to expanding on this theme.
