Establishment Fudges Truth In Dental Amalgam

SECOND IN A SERIES: EXCLUSIVE TO THE SPOTLIGHT
By Tom Valentine

In its haste to defuse the “toxic time bomb” of dental amalgam poi-soning, the Establishment propaganda barrage has taken liberties with the truth.
Following the October 1985 series on “mercury” amalgams in The SPOT-LIGHT, the Establishment’s “watch-dog” publication, “Consumer
Reports,” came out with a scathing de- bunking of any notion that dental amalgam may be dangerous. The article in the March 1986 issue of CR was headlined: “The Mercury Scare:
If a Dentist Wants to Remove Your Fillings Because They Contain Mercury, Watch Your Wallet.”

It’s two years later and this propaganda is still widely handed out by dentists who have not questioned the American Dental Association’s (ADA) self-serving point of view.
Sam Ziff, editor of “Bioprobe News-letter,” an alternative viewpoint for den-tists, accepted the challenge of CR by dissecting the article.
